Threadneedles Hotel, London, was the sparkling venue for the launch of the Volvo City Sailing Championships 2006. Long-running teams such as Barclays Capital, second-year racers such as Laytons (Best Newcomer winners in 2005), and many new faces attended the event. As the guests sipped on Champagne Mumm and nibbled on delicate canapes, mingled and caught up on all the news, it was announced that the Championships are moving this year to Cowes, Isle of Wight, a fabulous location renowned for its sailing calendar.
